So Marc made it very clear that I could NOT put up the Christmas tree until after Thanksgiving, which makes sense but I could barely contain myself. So on Black Friday when I could be searching for deals, I decided to put up the tree and get creative. I started with an artificial tree from Marc's grandma. When I started to separate the individual branches by size I realized that we didn't have all the pieces..So right now our tree is a LITTLE bare in the back so we have it shoved in the corner so nobody can tell:).. Then for the decor, I had bought green & silver balls & specialty ornaments after Christmas last year for 50% off. I thought the green and silver might be a little bland so I picked up some teal ornaments for $15, added some pine cones that I jacked from the neighbors, then to add a little pizazz - I took several peacock feathers to tie in all the colors-if you don't know yet, Peacock feathers are my FAVORITE right now. They are just so unique and add a little of something unexpected. I thought it turned out really cute, and definitely my style - it was also cohesive from the wreath that I had made earlier this month so I guess that is my theme this year!
Christmas is definitely past having to do traditional "red & green" UNLESS you want to so make your tree your own:)
